If you are looking for a slice of Americana and a traditional country lifestyle good time, plan to attend the 25th Fryburg-Marble Mayfest on May 27 & 28. The Washington Township Community Association was formed 25 years ago to promote the rich heritage of their small country communities of Fryburg and Marble in Clarion County by bringing together friends and family to celebrate with good old fashioned fun. This year’s theme is “Mayfest 2016 Shining Through The Years”. The festivities start Friday evening with a 5K Fun Run/Walk in memory of Paul F. Karg. At 7PM at the Washington Township Fire Hall there will be a Corn Hole contest.
The fun starts early on Saturday with FREE coffee and donuts at PJ’s Country Market from 6-7:30AM. At 7AM the Knights of Columbus Breakfast will be held at St. Michael’s Hall. Put on your shopping shoes for a community yard sale, Flea Market, Rummage Sale, & Indoor Craft Show which all get underway at 8AM. At 9AM the free inflatable games open at the ball field. From 10AM to 2PM Marty’s Bubble Gum Machine, an interactive DJ will playing your favorite music. Also at 10AM the Tractor Show and Bruce Wilson Memorial Car Cruise begin. Kids of all ages will enjoy the free train rides from 11AM to 1PM. The very popular Chicken BBQ, free firetruck rides, and a concert by Issac Cole and Mikayla Lynn will begin at 11AM at the Washington Township Fire Hall. The pre-parade Pet Social is at 1PM with Pet Judging at 2PM. The parade takes place at 3PM. Lonesome Bob and Steve will be in concert at 5PM. The wild and crazy lawn mower races take the green flag at 5:30PM. A Family Tale- Gate party is slated for 6:30PM with Fireworks at dusk. Tractors hitched to hay wagons provide transportation and are a fun and easy way to experience everything happening at Mayfest.
