(The starting line Photo by Ta Enos)

In early April each year, one of the first signs of spring the north woods is the annual Cameron County Canoe and Kayak Classic. This 12-mile race along the Driftwood Branch of the Sinnemahoning Creek is the largest downriver canoe and kayak event in Pennsylvania with hundreds of participants each year. After a long cold winter, paddlers are itching to hit the water so the starting line on Route 120 across from the Emporium Country Club will be packed with brave souls ready to take on the cold water and cool temps as they make their way downstream to the finish line at the bridge in Driftwood. Come experience a unique and fun way to enjoy this beautiful river valley.
