If you’re coming to the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region for an Independence Day vacation, makes some time to join in on the Clarion Hospital “I Love Clarion” celebration on July 3 and enjoy a live slice of Americana in this charming university town.
The Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry has organized the event, which will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Clarion University Memorial Stadium with music by local country singer Coston Cross. At 7 p.m., the Wrangler Band will perform, and throughout the event, local businesses and vendors will sell food and refreshments including walking tacos, kettle corn, and frozen custard.
Event organizers will collect donations for American troops and encourage attendees to write thank-you cards for members of the military overseas. In particular, they are seeking personal hygiene items (for both male and female service members), individual packets of non-perishable snacks, batteries, CDs, table games, gum, hard candy, air fresheners, stationery and postal supplies, phone cards, books, and magazines. Event organizers also welcome monetary donations to help offset shipping costs of donated items.
Additionally, each attendee is encouraged to donate at least one non-perishable food item for the Clarion County Food Bank’s FoodStock drive, which is coming up on its 20th anniversary and aims to collect more than 10,000 items for local families in need.
At dusk, the sky will come alive with a memorable fireworks display by Clarion Chamber member Pyrotecnico. Start your Independence Day celebration in Clarion and get to know this exceptional community.
