Clarion County Selfie Scavenger Hunt

1. Foxburg: Explore the gem of the Allegheny River Valley. Enjoy golf, dining, wine tasting, handcrafted chocolates, music, art, hiking, cycling, and fun of the river.

2. Sculptures along Redbank Valley Trail: Near New Bethlehem four metal sculptures, “Mama Bear & Cubs”, “Bird in Hand”, “Believe”, and “Hoot” greet passing hikers and cyclists.

3. Climax Tunnel: Train tunnel built in the 1870s. Reopened with major upgrades in August 2018 and a favorite spot for visitors on the Redbank Valley Trail.

4. Brady’s Bend Overlook: A spectacular panoramic view of the magnificent bend in the mighty Allegheny River below.

5. Rail 66 Country Trail: Four-season non-motorized paved trail through the scenic countryside of northern Clarion County.

6. Piney Reservoir on the Clarion River: Deepwater 14-mile-long reservoir popular for boating, water sports, and fishing.

7. Cook Forest Sawmill Center for the Arts: Features a craft market with unique handcrafted items and artwork.

8. Redbank Coaling Tower: Coal was released from a reservoir above the tracks via chutes to waiting steam locomotives from 1930 to 1957. Located along the Armstrong Trail.

9. Helen Furnace: Cold-blast charcoal stone furnace and iron works built in 1845 with eight-foot bosh 32 feet high. Originally called “Hieland” or “Highland” in Scottish.

10. Clarion County Courthouse: This structure, the third to be erected, was built in the Queen Anne style in 1883 at a cost of more than $97,000. The building’s tower is 214 feet high.
