If you like live Christmas trees and the piney scent they contribute to your home’s holiday atmosphere, check out C & A Trees just south of downtown Clarion on Route 68. For more than 25 years, this plant nursery, greenhouse, and garden center has helped people outfit their homes and gardens all year round, and during the holiday season, it’s the best place to go for fresh and live Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, poinsettias, and holiday decor.

The spring-fed 53-acre farm boasts 1.5 acres of retail and grows many of the plants they sell throughout the year right in house. Through the warmer months, the shop sells annuals, perennials, seeds, vegetables, hanging baskets, shrubs, and trees as well as residential and commercial landscaping services. During the holidays, Christmas trees and holiday greenery are available in the Christmas tree barn, where shoppers can come in from the cold and elements to pick out the perfect tree for their home. All year round, the one-stop shop offers hand tools, indoor and outdoor decorations, fairy garden pieces, gifts for gardeners, house plants, and more.

Co-owner Teresa Lapinto advises Christmas tree shoppers to measure their ceiling height and floor area where they intend to place their tree before coming in to ensure they get an appropriately sized tree for their home. To help it stay fresh throughout the season, she advises cutting an inch off the bottom of the trunk, putting it in water right away, and keeping it well-watered until disposal.

Until Christmas, C & A Trees will be open Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop in on Small Business Saturday, November 24, for holiday discounts!
