As another year draws to a close, it is time to look back and reflect on 2015.  The weather made the news.   Winter had several bitter cold weeks with temperatures well below zero.   Heavy rains put a bit of a damper on spring and the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Thankfully, the beautiful days of summer and fall that followed made for a strong travel season.

It was a year when we saw many new businesses open in the region with cabins under construction, restaurants added, hotels remodeled, and small businesses expanding.

At PA Great Outdoors we did some new things too.  Sports shows in Altoona and Hamburg, NY were added to a list that already included Harrisburg and Monroeville.  The PA Great Outdoors Minute premiered on TomBob Outdoors Friends in Wild Places Adventure Series.  A total of thirteen PAGO Minutes featuring tourist attractions throughout the region were produced.  Locations and new racks were added to our regional distribution network.  Finally, we produced a new Uncork the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Wine Trail.   The Guide is an all-encompassing resource for finding and enjoying the wineries, breweries, distilleries, and wine events in our region that includes a map featuring all major routes and all stops clearly marked.

From everyone at the PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau, we wish you a safe and prosperous Happy New Year!
