January, the time of year when we put Christmas away for another year. The holiday parties are all but memories now and life slows down a bit. It is the time of year when many of us start getting “cabin fever” and wishing for something to do and see. Mountain Fest is the perfect escape for some mid-winter fun. For three days, January 17, 18, and 19, at the Motion Control Building on Gillis Avenue in Ridgway, the winter blues are kicked to the curb with this is a family friendly event with live demonstrations, crafters and vendors, activities for children, live entertainment, contests, and of course food and beverages. See chainsaw carvers showing off their skills, an axe throwing competition, archery shoot, and other entertaining contests. Indoor and outdoor vendors include distilleries, breweries, wineries, ATV sales, sawmill, rope makers, potter, blacksmith, leather craft, glass blower, and black powder.
In its second year, Mountain Fest brought to you by Elk County Wilds Tourism Association, is gaining momentum fast as a great event to break you out of the winter doldrums with tons of fun for the entire family.
