February and March is sports show season. This is the perfect chance for the outdoor enthusiast to shake the winter blues and get excited about planning things to do during the warmer days to come. The shows are packed with vendors offering the latest in outdoor products and gear, wildlife art, and fishing and hunting trips. It is also the perfect time to introduce potential new travelers to the many opportunities for outdoor adventure in the PA Great Outdoors region. That is why the PAGO staff will be attending four shows this year. At the PAGO booth we will have lots of new free handouts including the 80 page 2016 Visitors Welcome Guide, the new Elk Viewing Guide, our brand new Biker’s Guide to the PA Great Outdoors, and our revised Uncork the PA Great Outdoors Wine Trail and map.

We kick off our sports show schedule at “The World’s Largest Sports Show” the NRA’s Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA which runs February 6-14. This show has grown so large that you really need at least two days to take in everything. Next we’re on to the 31st Annual Allegheny Sport, Travel, & Outdoor Show February 17-21 in Monroeville. From there we will be at the Jaffa Sports Show at The Jaffa Shrine in Altoona February 25-28. Our final show is the Western New York Sport & Travel Expo March 10-13 at the Fairgrounds Event Center & Casino in Hamburg, NY. The shows are a lot of long hours and work but we get to meet a lot of people and talk to them about our wonderful corner of the world.
