Sinnemahone-Ultra50The Sinnemahone 50K is a challenging race on trails that winds through the Elk State Forest that is held the third Saturday of October each year.  The trail run begins and ends in the picturesque town of Emporium the county seat of Cameron County.  While on the trail runners see remarkable views of the forests in the PA Great Outdoors region and the animals that call them home.  In 2015 competitors have three options from which they can choose a new 10K, 25K, or 50K run. The record for the 50K is held by Joshua Gorman of St. Marys, PA at 5:12.04.  The total elevation gain for the 50K is about 4,000 feet.  The record for the 25K is held by Matt Lipsey at 1:56:41.7.  The total elevation gain for the 25K is 2610 feet.  For the inaugural 10K race in 2015 the elevation change is 1088 feet.
