Summer in the country makes you think about fresh cut grass, swimming in the creek, walks down an old dirt road, and county fairs. Our 5-county region hosts several including Wolf’s Corner Fair, Jefferson County Fair, Clarion County Fair, Sykesville Ag & Youth Fair, Elk County Fair, and Cameron County Fair.

Our area fairs kick off in northern Clarion County at Wolf’s Corners Fair on June 30 – July 6, Jefferson County on July 14 to July 20, Clarion County on July 21 to July 27, Sykesville Ag & Youth on August 4 to August 10, Elk County from August 6 to August 10, and Cameron County August 5 to August 10.

Barns are filled with animals to be judged. Buildings are filled with baked goods, canned goods, and home and family living items- all to be judged. Many of these items are also auctioned, including the animals. The general public is invited to view the animals and all the goods that are up for judging. The public also has the opportunity to enjoy musical groups, truck pulls, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and rodeos.

Of course, one cannot forget about the midway for rides, games, and an array of food to enjoy. Carnival rides for kids of all ages to enjoy and a diverse array of food from traveling vendors as well as local vendors to eat.

While you enjoy your summer, keep in mind that a good night at the fair can be a ton of fun for the entire family. For more information on the fairs in our area or other events to attend, go to VisitPAGO.com/events
