Musky-FlyThe muskellunge (esox masquinongy) is the largest member of the pike family and has been called the fish of a thousand casts. Sometimes they can be very aggressive and hit lit like a freight train. Other times muskies will follow lures right to the boat, but not strike. They also can just seem to vanish and get “lock jaw”. Try fly fishing for them and now you up the difficultly level even more. Todd Deluccia, of Emporium in Cameron County, won the 2014 World Musky Flying Fishing Championship. Not only is he very successful at fly fishing for musky and the other tooth-filled monsters that swim the lakes and streams of the PA Great Outdoors regions, but he loves showing others how to catch big fish on a fly. Todd is the owner and operator of Keystone Predator Outfitters. He can often be found in his drift boat guiding his clients on musky and pike fishing adventures. Anglers can choose from half-day and full-day fully guided fly fishing float trips with rods, reels, flies, and just about everything, other than your license, provided. If you are or know a fisherman that might want to try big fish on fly rod, give Todd at call (814) 592-1080. For more information on fishing in the PA Great Outdoors region, go online at VisitPAGO.com/outdoor-recreation/fishing/ or call (814) 849-5197.
