The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region consists of five distinct counties, each proudly displaying their rich heritage and history. The region boasts many historical attractions and museums that offer visitors plenty of opportunities to take a step back in time.

Two and a half miles east of East Brady, a spectacular eight-mile panoramic view of the magnificent bend in the mighty recognized Allegheny River. Bring your camera.

Display of glass from local industry, pictures, and artifacts of lumbering, mining, and farming history. A separate genealogical research area is available. No admission fees. Tuesday and Thursday 1-5 p.m.

Historic cold-blast charcoal iron furnace built in 1844, 32 feet tall. Maximum production 1,200 tons/ year. Abandoned in 1858 due to lack of timber for fuel.

Wildlife museum with more than 100 taxidermy displays. World-famous whitetails, including RDM Goliath, world's highest-scoring antlers. Admission included with Double Diamond Deer Ranch. Group tours available.

Located in the center of the square in Driftwood on Route 555 is a memorial to the Bucktail Regiment who answered President Lincoln's call for volunteers during the Civil War.

Cameron County Canvas murals throughout Emporium depict county residents and military personnel. Painted by Michael Pilato and Yuri Karabash and funded by the Sylvan Heritage Council.

Built July 4, 1890. Original courtroom still has seats used by the Bucktailers at their reunion, alongside the rare "unblindfolded" Lady Justice who sees all.

One of PA's top 10 seasonal museums. More than 15,000 items including tools and photos from lumbering and dynamite industries, personal effects from Tom Mix and General Joseph McNarney.

This structure, the third to be erected, was built in the Queen Anne style in 1883 at a cost of more than $97,000. The building's tower is 214 feet high.
