The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region is home to two nationally designated Wild & Scenic Rivers – the Clarion and the Allegheny. Both rivers begin as clear and cold mountain streams from snow melt and rain then turn into monumental rivers flowing through rugged and stunningly beautiful country.

Along their steep forested banks, you can spot river otters, eagles, osprey, black bear, and whitetail deer. Both rivers sustain an amazing array of fish. The upper Clarion is one of the best kept secrets in the country for trophy brown trout. The middle section also offers exceptional smallmouth bass fishing.

The Allegheny River is known for fantastic musky fishing. Pool number nine near East Brady is the northern most deep water pool on the river and home to an annual catfish tournament.

There are abundant opportunities for outdoor adventure including kayaking, canoeing, tubing, swimming and photography.
