For motorcycle enthusiasts there are so many roads in the PA Great Outdoors region to drive and explore that the hardest part is deciding which routes they should take. Autumn is a spectacular time to ride and explore the byways through the mountains here. The crisp cool air and bright colors of fall welcome riders to enjoy the open road. PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau and DuBois Harley-Davidson have joined forces to produce a Biker’s Ride Guide to Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors region. It has four highlighted drives that were put together by bikers for bikers. These routes will take riders through some of the most spectacular scenery in Pennsylvania with turn-by-turn directions. Along the way, they’ll have many opportunities enjoy stunning vistas and visit interesting stops.
Wykoff Run Road in the Quehanna Wild Area is a road built for motorcycles and is considered one of the top rides in the state. It features amazing sweeping turns following a clear cold mountain stream with pull-offs for streamside viewing of several beautiful waterfalls.
The rides in this guide are just suggested routes. We recommend that bikers use this guide as a starting point to explore the region. Visitors should feel free to make changes and take side trips as they choose. Bikers should be sure to start each ride with a full tank of gas because there are some stretches where gas stations are few and far between and cellular services can be spotty.
