Water trails are recreational waterways containing access points along with day-use and camping sites for the boating public.

ANF ATV/OHM Trails

There are many miles of ATV and OHM trails throughout the Allegheny National Forest.

Thunder Mountain Equestrian Trail

53-mile trail through the 200,000-acre Elk State Forest with two loops for shorter rides. Trailhead is off Hicks Run Road (near Route 555).

Elk County Wayfinding Map

The new Elk County Wayfinding map will help visitors navigate throughout the county. It features maps of Benezette/Weedville, Johnsonburg, Ridgway, and St. Marys, a large map of Elk County, attractions, and events.

Clarion-Little Toby Trail

18-mile crushed-limestone rail-trail along Little Toby Creek and Clarion River from Brockway to Ridgway for hiking, bicycling, and cross-country skiing with ghost towns and swinging bridge.

Hunter Run Trail System

Well-marked nested loop trail system with small and large loops for hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, bird watching, geocaching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hunting.

Little Toby Water Trail

From its genesis near the small town of Kersey in south-central Elk County, the Little Toby Creek cuts through a beautiful valley lined with hardwood forests. As it works its way southwest and slowly begins to widen, it approaches Brockway, then turns north toward the Clarion River.

Sinnemahoning Water Trail

Paddlers can enjoy more than 75 miles to explore through picturesque landscapes in heart of Pennsylvania’s Wild Elk Country. In the town of Driftwood, the Bennett Branch and Driftwood Branch converge to form the mighty Sinnemahoning Creek which is famous for outstanding paddling and fishing opportunities.

Allegheny Water Trail

The Allegheny River earned the honor of 2017 PA River of the Year. Paddlers and boaters can access the mighty Allegheny in Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors region at West Hickory, Tionesta, Foxburg, and East Brady.

Elk State Forest Map

Elk State Forest is nearly 217,000 acres located primarily in Elk and Cameron counties featuring Pennsylvania’s elk herd, the Elk Country Visitor Center, and the Elk Scenic Drive.

Moshannon State Forest Map

Moshannon State Forest is more than 190,000 acres in Elk, Cameron, and three other counties. Named “Moss-hanne” or “moose stream” from Native-American descriptions of the waterways that runs through it.
