Have you been to the Elk Country Visitor Center? Did you know there was a movie to watch in sensory surround theater? If you haven’t and didn’t, that’s ok. They now have a new 4D movie with completely remodeled theater entrance and exit areas. The all new show lets you experience being right “inside the herd” with never-before seen footage. You will see, feel, hear and smell your adventure through Pennsylvania’s Wild Elk Country.

I was privileged enough to be invited to see the first showing and it was amazing. The entry to the theater is totally redone and very informative. There is now a 24-minute pre-show while you wait for the show to begin. When the doors swing open you enter the theater and enjoy the show. See, feel, and hear what it is like to be surrounded by elk. SMELL what it is like. It really is an experience.

It took 2 years of hard work and team of 18 people to produce the new 4D movie with treks into the wilderness to film life among the herds. Many informative hikes to learn and find out what happens with the elk when you don’t see them. From mating to birth, to controlled burns to keep the environment prime grazing habitat for the elk and other wildlife.

I think, if you haven’t been to the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette before, you need to go and if you have, you need to go back and see, hear, and smell what is new. Admission to the movie is just $5.00 per person and as always, kids under 5 and military veterans are free.
