Benezette in Elk County is the designated “Elk Capital of Pennsylvania” and a great place to start your elk viewing adventure! The town is home to the Elk Country Visitor Center, a stunningly beautiful conservation and education center with touch screen displays, sensory-surround theater, wildlife displays and viewing blinds, and horse drawn wagon and sleigh rides, managed by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance.

Each August, over 12,000 visitors attend the PA Great Outdoors Elk Expo, a two day event featuring music, seminars, calling contests, vendors, and the PA Game Commission Elk License Drawing.

Scout for elk along the Elk Scenic Drive, a 127-mile route with 23 viewing sites offering safe and easy elk watching opportunities.
