Thunder Mountain Speedway and Hummingbird Speedways announced their much-anticipated preliminary 2021 schedules. The impressive list of events and “big” prize money on the line should provide some of the best racing in Pennsylvania. Here are some dates that you will want to be sure to mark on your calendar. Opening night is April 30th at TMS and May 1st at “The Bird”.

The biggest names in dirt track racing will be in the pits when the World of Outlaws Late Models return to Thunder Mountain on June 18th. The Renegades of Dirt Modified Series will make their first ever visit to the region with races scheduled at TMS on July 2nd and at “The Bird” on July 3rd. July 10th should be one of the best shows of the year at Thunder Mountain with Late Models and 410 Sprints both paying $3,000 to win and the BRP Modified Tour on the card as well. Fan Appreciation Night will be July 24th at Hummingbird and August 13th at Thunder Mountain. It is one of the most anticipated events of the year for kids because the fans get to go on the track to meet the drivers, get autographs, take pictures, see the cars up close, and get bags full of candy and other treats. The BRP Modified Tour affectionately called “The Ground Pounders” because the thunderous roar that their big block engines create, will be at Hummingbird on May 9th, at Thunder Mountain on August 27th, and back at “The Bird” on August 28th. ThunderFest 2021 is huge two-day season finale in September at Thunder Mountain that pays $10,000 to win each night for ULMS Late Model Series.

Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau will be sponsoring the new Powder Puff FWD Series for female/novice drivers only with monthly races at Hummingbird Speedway. The driver with the most points at the end of the season will crowned the first Powder Puff Track Champion. July 17th at Hummingbird is the Gateway Special-Tom Scott Memorial for the Pro Stock division. One of the most prestigious races to win in Western PA is Ina’s Memorial Shootout at Hummingbird for the Penn/Ohio Pro Stock Championship Series on August 7th paying $3,500 to win. The Renegade Monster Trucks return to Hummingbird on Labor Day weekend. The Spider Barnett Memorial for Late Models is slated for September 11th at “The Bird”. The season ends with the Battle at the Bird Demolition Derby on October 2nd. Hummingbird has also added some fun events to their program with Australian Pursuit, Crack the Whip, Reverse Dash 4-Cash, and Mechanics races.

Every Friday and Saturday night from May through September the two dirt tracks in Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors region pack the grandstands with racing fans that come to experience exciting door-to-door action and the wild highspeed thrills and spills of local stock car racing. Thunder Mountain Speedway races Friday nights and is located between Brookville and Punxsutawney at 3406 Ramsaytown Road near the town of Knoxdale. Hummingbird Speedway races Saturday nights and is located at between Reynoldsville and Falls Creek at 840 Gospel Center Road.
