Wildlife & Animal Exhibits

A wide range of wildlife including elk, deer, bear, wild turkey, eagle, osprey, river otters, and a plethora of bird and small-game species make their home in the lush forests of the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors. Here, you can feed whitetail deer and a variety of exotic animals, listen to the wild elk bugle, experience the daily life of local wildlife through hands-on exhibits, find out where trout come from at a number of fish hatcheries, and visit the world’s most famous weather forecaster, Punxsutawney Phil.

Punxsutawney Phil and family in their natural habitat, located off Barclay Square at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library. Punxsutawney Phil can be seen from outside 24/7 or from inside the library.

Open for tours, the hatchery raises muskellunge, walleye, and steelhead fingerlings for stocking the Commonwealth waters. Open seven days a week 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Educational state-of-the-art interpretive exhibits, opportunities to view eagles, elk, and other wildlife. Learn about green building design.
