The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region is blessed with vast expanses of forests that come alive with rich colors of red, yellow, orange, and gold each autumn. There are so many places to experience the beauty of the season, but here is list of 10 great places to see our woodlands ablaze with colors of fall.

1. Bucktail Overlook in Sterling Run: Also called “Top of the World” and the Mason Hill Overlook with a commanding 360-degree panoramic view of Sinnemahoning watershed.

2. Fire Tower and Seneca Point in Cook Forest: Enjoy a commanding view of the Clarion River Valley from the 87.5-foot fire tower and the nearby Seneca Point overlook.

3. Winslow Hill Elk Viewing Area in Benezette: A large parking lot atop a spectacular mountain with a walk-up panoramic viewing area overlooking a large meadow where elk often gather.

4. Brady’s Bend Overlook in East Brady: Enjoy a spectacular eight-mile panoramic view of the magnificent bend in the mighty Allegheny River.

5. Beartown Rocks near Clear Creek State Park: The “best-kept secret” in Clear Creek State Forest. Massive house-sized boulders, created by glaciers, with breathtaking scenic views and hiking trails.

6. River Road in Cook Forest: Enjoy spectacular scenery along the Wild & Scenic Clarion River from Cooksburg to Hallton.

7. Allegheny National Forest in Forest County: More than 500,000 acres to explore with hundreds of miles of trails.

8. Redbank Valley Trail in Brookville and New Bethlehem: 51 miles from Brookville through New Bethlehem to near East Brady, along Redbank Creek with bridges, stone arches, and the newly opened Climax Tunnel.

9. Minister Creek Trail in Tionesta: 6.6 miles of hiking trail featuring many giant boulders and a scenic overlook.

10. Quehanna Wild Area in Elk and Cameron Counties: Nearly 50,000 acres. The many winding turns along a beautiful mountain stream make Wykoff Run Road a favorite for motorcyclists.
