Marienville is known as the snowmobile capitol of Pennsylvania.  There is no better way to experience small town America in winter than with a trip to the annual Marienville Winterfest.  This is a great way to enjoy the best of a Pennsylvania winter in some of the state’s most beautiful country.  Snowmobile riders can explore the Allegheny National Forest on well-marked trails. There is a lot of great food and two fun food contests.  The chili cook off is serious soup making and the pastry bake off is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.  For more fun there are auctions, raffles, and bingo games. The highlight of the event is the beautiful snowmobile parade by torch light.  Admission and parking is free. The event is January 30, 2016.  For more information on this and other fun winter things to do in the PA Great Outdoor region call (814) 849-5197 or online at VisitPAGO.com.
