In southern Clarion County you will find a gem of a place to visit if you are interested in hunting in any way. Swift Safariland is the culmination of a lifetime of hunting with just one man and one rifle, Vince Dougherty and a 220 Swift rifle.

Vince Dougherty grew up in a family of hunters. Vince started hunting with the 220 Swift rifle as a young man. Vince states that he started with groundhogs to deer to elk out west to going to Africa on Safari.

He and the trusty 220 Swift have hunted on 6 continents including 7 trips to Africa. In 2005, on a trip to Tanzania, Vince harvested a lion and his largest prey, an elephant. The two animals completed the collection of what Vince refers to as “the big 5”: elephant, rhino, cape buffalo, lion, and leopard.

In 2015, the Swift Safariland room opened. In this large room you will see over 100 animals in picturesque settings, with murals, and a giant wooden carved African Warrior in the center of this amazing wildlife gallery. At the same time Long Shot Ammo and Arms and their indoor shooting range opened as well and their very popular axe throwing range was recently added.

Swift Safariland is open to the public and free for you to walk through and also available to rent for group functions. It gives you and your family a chance to see, up close, animals from far away lands as well as from our area of the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region. For more information, go to VisitPAGO.com
