The Tionesta Market Village has helped bring life back to the business district of a small town that suffered a devastating fire in 2003 and has now become the place to be on weekends in Forest County. It is a unique collection of artisan shops located in downtown Tionesta on the banks of the Wild & Scenic Allegheny River. Visitors will discover quaint little shops, with turn of the century storefronts, stocked with unique items from many local skilled artisans and craft producers. Visitors can enjoy shopping for wine, maple syrup, baked goods, jewelry, home decor, wood crafts, stained glass, soaps, pottery, knitted goods, fresh produce, jams, pickles, and more. There is a playground for children, picnic tables, and free live entertainment as well. The Tionesta Market Village is open on weekends from May-October, with some special events scheduled for the off-season.

“I consider it one of the hidden gems in the PA Wilds. I love the concept and I am very proud to have it in our region. Not only does it bring tourism spending to Tionesta, but it is also helping grow the cottage industry and bring jobs to Forest County. With live entertainment scheduled throughout the season, the Market Village has become more than a place to shop…it’s a destination for fun, relaxation, and fellowship.”-John Straitiff, Director PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau
