Discover Cameron County
Cameron County is a wild and wonderful outdoor paradise. Visitors looking to unplug from their busy lives are attracted to the area to connect with nature and unwind in the quiet mountains. The majority of the county is covered in lush forests and clear waterways provide rich habitat for bald eagles, magnificent elk, deer, bear, turkey, other wildlife, and a great variety of fish. Each spring, fishermen converge on the many streams in the area for the much anticipated opening of trout season and throughout the year the cold mountain waters provide some of the best fly-fishing in the state. With the arrival of autumn, hunters come to mountains the in search of plentiful wild game and to enjoy peaceful camp life.
The new Cameron County Elk & Eagle Watching Guide features descriptions and GPS coordinates for 18 elk viewing locations and 9 eagle watching hotspots throughout the county. Cameron County is blessed with strong populations of both elk and eagles and this new guide will help visitors find the best places to view these beautiful creatures.
